If you are new to investing, this guide will introduce you to key investment topics, including the different types of asset classes and how they work. It will also introduce different investment styles and some of the risks you may face as an investor.
Here’s some information that may be helpful:
- You will find your account number and username within My Profile. You can change your username at any time.
- Your investment choice on your Dashboard.
- If you are transferring from another provider, we’ll liaise with them and keep you informed as your transfer progresses. We’ll also let you know once the transfer is complete, and your funds are showing in your Summer account. Please note that the transfer process can take up to 10 working days to complete from the time we notify your former provider that you have elected to join Summer.
- Summer’s performance is reported monthly here.
- We have a simple tool here to help determine which fund or combination of funds in the Summer KiwiSaver scheme might be right for you.
- You can adjust your investment choice online via the Switching my investments page when you log in. There are no switching fees.
- There are a number of ways you can make voluntary contributions as detailed here.
- You can find out how you are tracking towards your estimated maximum government contribution by viewing the tracker on your dashboard.

The Summer website is mobile friendly and it’s easy to load a shortcut on your device’s home screen, which will take you directly to the website whenever you need to access it. More information on how to do this can be found here.
